General Terms and Conditions (GTC) for the private rental of a holiday home

1. Contract Conclusion: By submitting a booking request, the tenant makes a binding offer to the landlord to conclude a rental agreement. The contract is concluded upon written confirmation by the landlord. 2. Rental Period and Arrival/Departure: The rental period is specified in the booking confirmation. Arrival and departure times are agreed upon individually or can be found in the booking confirmation. 3. Rental Price and Payment: The agreed rental price is binding. Unless otherwise agreed, a deposit is due upon booking, and the remaining balance is due before arrival. For short-notice bookings, the full amount may be due immediately. 4. Security Deposit: The landlord is entitled to demand a reasonable security deposit. This will be refunded after the house has been returned in good order. 5. Use of the Rental Property: The holiday home may only be used by the number of persons specified in the booking. Subletting or transferring the property to third parties is not permitted. 6. Duty of Care: The tenant is obligated to treat the holiday home and its inventory with care. Any damage must be reported to the landlord immediately. 7. House Rules: The posted or provided house rules are an integral part of this contract. In particular, the usual quiet hours must be observed and reasonable noise levels must be maintained. 8. Cleaning: The holiday home must be left swept clean at the end of the rental period. Dishes must be left clean and garbage disposed of properly. 9. Cancellation: Cancellation of the rental agreement is possible at any time, but should be made in writing. Cancellation fees may apply, the amount of which depends on the time of cancellation. 10. Liability: The tenant is liable for damage to the rental property caused by them or their travel companions. The landlord is only liable for intent and gross negligence. 11. Force Majeure: In the event of unforeseen circumstances (e.g., natural disasters), both parties are entitled to withdraw from the contract. Payments already made will be refunded in this case. 12. Final Provisions: Should individual provisions of these terms and conditions be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected. The law of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply.
